Dev Kit Quick Start

Let's get your Theia Dev Kit running in less than 30 minutes.

What you'll need

  1. One Theia radar.
  2. One 12V power supply (supplied with the radar).
  3. One SD card (which should be inserted into the radar's SD slot).
  4. An Ethernet cable, connecting your LAN to the radar's Ethernet port.
  5. A computer connected to the same LAN as the radar, with its input UDP port 2000 opened by its firewall (if applicable).
  6. One or several Atheraxon tags.
  7. A mount with a standard 75mmx75mm VESA hole pattern, and four 10mm M4 screws.

Getting Started

  1. Connect the computer running the Plotter.exe program to a LAN.
  2. Change the IPAddress parameter settings.csv of all the radar configuration SD cards to the IP of the computer. Also take note of their MAC addresses stored in MAC.txt files.
  3. Screw all the radars into their VESA mounts and place them all in their desired locations and orientations.
  4. Connect a 12V 2A+ power supply to each radar.
Take care

Connecting a power supply with any higher voltage than 12V may lead to irreversible damage to the radar.

  1. Connect the Ethernet ports of each radar to the LAN—via either a wired or wireless connection.
  2. Change the readers.json file on the computer to indicate the known positions and orientations of the radars.
  3. Change the plotSettings.csv on the computer to adjust the size of the visualization box (all dimensions in m).
  4. Turn all radars on.
  5. Wait 30 seconds, or so.
  6. Launch the plotter.exe program.
  7. Place one or several tags in front of the reader and they should be displayed on the 3D visualization.
